We shall try to work with you on an adult basis and therefore you will be given guidelines and expectations to consider. We expect that any issue arising from these will be resolved by discussion and consideration in common sense ways. We request that all students set a positive example and are mindful of the good image of the Belfairs Post 16 Centre.

1. Attendance and punctuality - It is vital that you attend regularly and are always punctual to lessons and tutorial sessions. Proper

procedures should be followed in case of absence or lateness. Attendance falling below 85% will lead to disciplinary procedures.

2. Dress – We ask that you be neat and tidy and avoid any clothing that might attract adverse comment or cause offence. Beachwear is not acceptable. Please speak to a member of the Post 16 team if you need further clarification.

3. Facilities – You may use many rooms unsupervised including computer rooms. You are asked to respect the views of staff who normally use these rooms and leave facilities in good order. This especially applies to the Common Room.

4. Smoking – Students are to refrain from smoking on or near the premises. This is a disciplinary issue for offending.

5. Parking – There is no parking available for cars. Mopeds and motorcycles have a designated area. Permits are issued through the Post 16 Office.

6. Alcohol – Alcohol is strictly prohibited.

7. Resources – Students are obviously expected to look after and respect these. There are standard procedures with regards to the use and security of ICT facilities to which students must adhere.

8. Private Study – Each student will have a timetabled allocation of study periods for which they will be registered. Attendance is compulsory.

9. Post 16 Library – Resources in the Post 16 Library (inc Higher Ed info) must not be removed from the study area without consent from a member of staff or unless officially on loan.

10. Use of Non-timetabled time - Students may request to use the study facilities outside of timetabled private study, if space is available. The playing of football or any other games during lesson time is forbidden. Sunbathing is not an acceptable use of time. Post 16 students should not fratanise with younger students on the field or the block playgrounds.

11. Use of Dining Hall – Post 16 students are able to use the Canteen facilities to purchase food but should not congregate in the Dining Hall or in the corridor by the staff toilets.

12. Electronic Equipment – i.e. Ipods/phones – the use of these items should be discreet, they should not be visible around the school. You will be asked to remove them or hand them over to a member of staff if repeatedly challenged.

Expectations

These are firm expectations of all students enrolling for Post 16 studies at Belfairs.

We expect the utmost courtesy and good manners at all times from all students.
